Weird feet!

It seems like my cochin bantam rooster has the ugliest feet I've ever seen! I don't really have any other chicken feet to compare him to, so I'm wondering if this is normal? Don't have a pic, but they are all rough and callousy looking, not at all smooth and pretty like when he was a chick. Any suggestions?

maybe he has got scaly leg mites, they make the scales all roughed up

I'm with Tala. We can't tell for sure without a picture, but scaly leg mites seem the most likely. Check out this picture and see if it looks the same--or close to the same.

I agree with everyone else. It is probably scaley leg mites. If you put up a picture, we can give you a more definitive opinion.

actually someone just was talking on the link for BYC and said to soak their feet in oil,vaseline with 7 dust or.....oh I forget...but I have a rooster with that and was wondering what to do.

I just doused him in vaseline and I'm gonna keep doing it every few days. If this doesn't start to work, I was thinking about using that ivermectine stuff. He's got it pretty bad, sad to say I didn't realize what it was until it was way accelerated.
