I have been searching for an answer to this. This little guy or girl is 3 weeks old.
A little backstory; I had three mamas go broody all within a few weeks of each other. At one point I had two mamas sitting on a pile of eggs that was massive. They were violently defending it, so I let them be. There was more than 15. I told myself that I was going to just let nature take its course, because this is my first breeding season with my babies that I incubated and raised to start my flock. I want my flock bigger. Long story short, we had a total of 17 hatch between the three girls. Everyone was doing great up until the 27th when this little one went missing and we found it the next day, in the goat pen. Apparently it had spent the night with the goat. When I found it, it was very upset of course but I noticed something about its eyes which you can see the squinty eye and the Open Eye and that's how they looked. The Mamas are being very good Mamas, it went back with everyone and was back to normal it seemed.. so fast forward to yesterday. Everyone came out except for this one. Everyone was eating except for this one. When I picked it up it literally had no vision. The one eye has these growths all around it, you can't even see the eye anymore. The other eye was also closed yesterday so of course it was running back and forth in the front of the coop crying because it couldn't figure out how to get out and follow mama. There's about an 8 inch jump to get out. Since then it's been inside with me. I have been wiping its eyes with a warm wash cloth several times a day and I've been busting open vitamin E oil putting on its eyes to soften and heal its eyes..
Today one eye came back open. Not constant, but it does open again. Today it finally ate two handfuls of crumbles and drank a bunch of water.
I have looked up all the possible issues and there's nothing respiratory wrong with this bird and no one else is sick. I'm stuck figuring out exactly what this is. I don't understand what happened unless it got some type of an infection from being in the goat pen overnight with the goat. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before? If anyone has any ideas of what else I can do? I'm planning to buy some vet RX tomorrow and I'm hoping that helps more but what the heck is this? Does anyone know? I've looked up all the contagious stuff and it doesn't match up with anything that I'm seeing on this baby. This little cutie is back to almost its normal self today, jumping around my house, pecking the dog even with only one eye working.. I don't believe it's contagious (from my research) but I'm keeping it with me inside until I figure it out or get it better. There's so many babies and juveniles in the coop now.. it gets lost in the mix or pushed outta the way. I also have 7 juveniles that I hatched in June in my flock in addition to my adults. This little booger is so spunky and I don't want to give up on it . . but I don't know what else I should do and I don't want to do the wrong thing. I am medically retired from my full-time job and I only work 10 hours a week for minimum wage as I'm waiting for Social Security, so I can't really call a vet right now and book an appointment. This Baby's spirit is so strong - please help - Ideas and treatment suggestions are appreciated. If I've missed a thread that has my answer, please feel free to point me to it. Please be nice, because I am busy, I am scatterbrained and I'm an old lady with post covid brain fog

Thanks in advance!
