weird noise...

One of my male ducks is making a weird almost sneeze like noise then swallows and he shakes his head a lot. He stays near the water and seems to be trying to clear something. Do you think he will get it cleared or should I catch him and try to take a look inside his mouth to see if something is stuck?

is he whistling then he bobs his head up and down then runs forward

Nope. He is doing the same as the others and foraging for stuff, but he stops to sneeze and shakes his head side to side. He prefers to stay right near the water though.

Sounds like he has something stuck, see if you can catch him and look down his throat to see if there is anything stuck.

I agree, sounds like something stuck. One of my girls used to make a "hiccup" type sound when eating but it would go away after she drank...sometimes it took a while but she was always able to clear it herself. I'd watch and see if intervention is needed. GL

Well, He must have swallowed whatever it was...it took over 14 hours, but today he hasn't made the same noise. Wheew.
