Hi All! Hoping for some advice. Yesterday morning when I went to do chores I found my polish bantam standing by herself in the run away from the others kind of puffed up. It’s been cold and wet (seriously I’m thinking of building an ark) the last few days and we discovered the coop has a leak somewhere so I thought maybe she just got chilled. Brought her in the house, gave her some warmed up blueberries (her favorite) and some scrambled egg. Then she pooped..

Yellow and runny! After being in the house for awhile she seemed to be better. She was cruising around the living room just fine. Didn't show any signs of distress, not lethargic anymore so I took her back to the coop. After a couple of hours, I could see her separate from the other girls, kind of fluffed up again so I went back down to the coop and brought her back to the house along with one of the other girls (the Polish does not like to be away from the other girls). Again she seemed fine in the house, she pooped a couple of additional times while she was in the house (thank goodness for tile floors!!)

Again both yellow/white and runny but acting totally fine. I ended up taking both of them back down to the coop. The Polish acted fine the rest of the day.

This morning I go down to do chores and the poop under the Polish roosting spot was yellow, a little thicker but still definitely diarrhea like. But again, she's acting like her normal self. I'm afraid it may be bacteria or something she can spread to the others so I brought her back into the house and she left me this gift which is more whitish. The first gift she left this morning in the house looked totally normal.

I've checked her crop, feels normal. She laid an egg on Tuesday and is due to lay again today so I don't think she's egg bound. She's eating the good stuff (kale, blueberries..she ignored her regular food). I've mixed electrolytes and probiotics in her water. She doesn't have any mucus around her eyes, nose or mouth and isn't wheezing. Process of elimination I think it's either bacteria or worms and am stumped as to how to proceed. Do I need to keep her segregated from the others? What treatments should I try?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

Addiitonal Info:

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) - Polish Bantam, 9 months old, don't know the weight but it seems normal.

2) What is the behavior, exactly. - that's the confusing part. She seemed off yesterday but is normal today

3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? Since yesterday morning

4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No, the other 3 are totally fine.

5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. - nope

6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. - nothing new

7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. - She's eating her feed (organic stuff I get from the local feed store, she's had kale, blueberries, scratch (again organic), scrambled egg. She has drank water and water with electrolytes & probiotics

8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. - yellow and watery to white and watery. There has been at least 1 normal poop since yesterday

9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Just electrolytes and probiotics in the water.

10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I'd like to treat her myself if I can.

11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. See poop pictures above

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use - the coop is a kids playhouse we converted. We did discover a leak during the crazy rain the last few days. The leak is coming in from the north window and is running down the wall behind their roosting bars. It's not a terrible leak but enough to get some of the bedding wet. We put up a tarp to keep it out until the rain stops and we can fix it. The coop is dry except a very small area under that window. It's in an area the girls don't get into. Unfortunately, everything is wet right now. I put tarps up around the run to keep out as much water as possible but the ground is so saturated right now that it's seeing in under the run and into it. I've put down a fresh bag of pine shavings to give them a dry space in the run to hang out. It won't stay dry for long, unfortunately. The coop has several inches of Koop Clean in it and the run is a composting run of mulch, landscape mix, and whatever coop bedding they have kicked out of the coop and into the run.

That last picture looked very much the same as we’ve had with one of our badly injured hens. The wounds healed but the antibiotics overload then screwed up her digestive transit system. The vet said t would take time. She’s slowly getting better. I’m giving her, besides layer pellets, the following.
Chopped hard boiled egg
Probiotic yogourt
Scratch mix,
Layer pellets
I mix it all up add some organic Verm mix for a few days. The poo is getting better, although it is still watery at times, but we are seeing an improvement.

Bird don't urinate separately like animals
So they urinate with poo and that white pasty matter called Urates and that's their urine ..
I didn't agree for Coccidiosis as there's no blood in poop
Sometimes heat or excess water makes poo loose ..It seems normal to me

Cause my bird did 2-3 this same poo in the morning ..I guess they clear their gut ..

My vet told me whenever they poo clear water like gel poo give sugar syrup whenever I notice a gel water type poo I make some sugar syrup and give and it clear the poo in 1 day by clearing their kidneys

If she's a laying hen I would check symptoms for Kidney damage (urolithiasis) u make some sugar syrup (2tablespoon sugar + plain water ) boiled it till it get thick with an eye dropped give 2 full eyedropper repeated it after 2 weeks ur hen poo will come back normal.

I think you’re right about the heat. The hens are living in our hall at the moment and it’s very warm so I think she’s drinking more. First poos in the morning aren’t too bad but as the day progresses they normally get more watery. The other hen is now ok and laying but she wasn’t as badly injured and she drinks less water and her poos are normal.

Ironically it’s cooler (in the 30s) and wet right now. Has been for going on 4 days. The girls are outside in a non-heated coop so I don’t think it’s heat related.

FWIW, I’ve had chickens and turkeys with coccidiosis that didn’t have blood in their poop. That comes after the parasites have caused severe damage.

I had a turkey with a mild case-They all carry the parasite and can usually fight it off, but stress can bring it on and he was attacked by other turkeys. He recovered but when we processed him we saw old cysts on his intestines. We obviously didn’t sell him to a customer.
