weird poop

Hi Everyone,
I picked up 4 pullets 3 weeks ago, 2 Buffs and 2 Black Australorps. The other day my wife noticed poop in the pen that was a yellow glob. Is this common? They are on grower feed right now and I let them out to free range the yard about 3-4 times a week depending on my schedule. I look forward to your responses. This is my first time keeping chickens.

Sounds like a pretty typical cecal poop. It can also be caused by too much corn in their diet. Make sure to use a good poultry ration, age appropriate. Keep an eye for other symptoms, just in case and let us know if you need more help.

Thanks for the response. All of my hens are acting normal. Do you have any recommendation on food type? Right now they are on Grower Crumbs plus whatever they eat while free ranging.

There's a very wide range of "normal" for poo.

So what is ceacal poop exactly? is it caused by sickness?
