Look what we brought home from spring break!

The man who owned Elvis was looking for a home for his ducks. We couldn't take all six, and my son couldn't pass on Elvis. He is way too "cool looking". His owner just gave him over to us. We got Elvis home after a four hour drive, and he was very lonely. We found MaryLou in a town about an hour away, and picked her up yesterday. She was an only duck, and I don't think she was well taken care of. She was pretty nasty when we got her, and we found out that she can't raise one of her wings all the way up. Her previous owner didn't know that she had a problem with her wing. Hmmm? I paid for her, and I know that I could have left her behind, but I couldn't do that knowing she was alone.

I wasn't sure how they would respond to each other when I put them together. I was very nervous, but I had nothing to worry about. They walked up to each other, chatted, and have been together ever since. It's all good!

edited to say: You can't really see it in these pictures, but Elvis has a really good fro.

Awww beautiful ducks. I love the creasted one. Is it a swedish? Im not that familiar with them. They look very happy to be part of your family. Congrats!

I wonder, though, if Elvis is part Cayuga because of the green sheen to him. We have a run duck called Oreo that has a similar black and white pattern to her, too. She gets whiter a little more each month.
