Hello and welcome to the new Hobbies Forum!!!
wee.gif

Now that we have our own Hobby forum, it is no longer necessary to use a few gigantic crafts threads as mini-forums to keep everything from getting lost among all the other topics. So, lets spread out!

To help organize the new Hobbies forum, Im requesting that longer threads with multiple topics be broken down into new sub-topics that will be more user-friendly.

The original topic, such as a swap or group project, can continue until finished, but please start a new thread for any on-going sub-topics within the original thread.
Use a descriptive thread title so that participating members can find the new threads.

Breaking up may be hard to do,

LOL, but it will ultimately make it easier to follow topics and will be more welcoming to new participants.

Also.....
Ive started and stickied a Patterns and Instructions thread so if you have patterns, photos of patterns, or links to patterns and instructions within the long threads, please consider re-posting them in the Patterns thread so that they will be easy to find and share.

Thanks everyone,

Chel

Hi Chel. Sounds like a good idea to group the hobby threads together..will you be moving the existing threads? Fine with me to move the Crochet Swap thread and the Christmas Crafts one ..although I didn't author either one, I do work at maintaining them. Thanks for your organizing effort here

Yes, Ive been moving the threads as I find them but they are mixed in with a lot of unrelated threads so it will take a while. Feel free to send me a PM with links to any craft and hobby threads that you run into that need to be moved here.

Thanks,

Chel

What a fantastic idea this was! Thank you for all your work on this, to get the threads organized and moved.

so on the crochet club swaps do we need to start a new thread for each spring and fall swap or can we just continue to use the thread we are on for the crochet swap? either is fine with me I just want to know what we need to do when the spring crochet swap comes up, well scrambled egg will know and then I will just follow her lead for the fall swap as she started the origainal crochet swap in the first place. thanks SE and eggchel. I think that it is better to start a new thread for each subsequent swap. That will make it easier for new participants to find out about it and will be less confusing in general.

Thanks,

Chel

Hi Chel:
I think the grouping is a good idea.
It is a little difficult for a new egg like myself to navigate in the threads.
I have posted in the wrong one before.

Is this where I post my hobbies albeit different than chickens??
I have been a rock collector for 50 years and have fashioned some fabulous jewelry with the help of my wife. If any one is interested it is the website I sent when I registered. Could the monitor check it out and see if it is appropriate and within the guidelines of this forum www.Thunderspiritdesigns.com
