Well, poor Izzy's eggs we think are lost causes. So we decided we should go back on the duckling hunt. We were having trouble finding ducklings this time of year, so we turned to Craigslist. No luck, until today!

We received an email from a woman with several diff. colored runner ducklings. We saw the pics and knew we needed them.

So, we're headed down to Holden, MO. to pick up either 4 babies, or 3 babies and one older hen. We're so excited! I don't know what we're going to do with silly mixed flock, but we'll love them all. lol

Will post pics of the babies when we get back!

ETA: Anyone know if the new babies will break Izzy's brood if we verify the eggs are bad?

Its hard to say for sure how she may react to the babies- but being a muscovy... its more likely that she will take the babies happily. Just wait til night to try putting them under her.... while you wait you can take plenty of photos

Izzy is actually a Saxony, believe it or not! And we still have not decided if we're going to put them out with her, or keep them inside. They are sooooo social and sweet, that we are hesitating to put them out there. Am in the process of getting photos now, so I will adding them here in just a few! Could certainly use some advice as to what colors these guys will be!

Anyway, hang tight, pics incoming!!!

Ok here's pics! They have that typical runner stance, and such goofy social little personalities. They are soooooo much different than other ducklings we've had. They want to be near you, and scream when you're away. And they try to escape the gap in the cage. lol They are worn out, so I couldn't get many pics of them standing but here they are. Any ideas on colors for these guys?? Ducklings were a mix of eggs from their flock of all runners, which included fawn and white, white, blue, and one that was sort of buff colored, or had the coloration of a Khaki hen.

Any thoughts??

The darker one might be a blue. I agree with 20123001 on Freckles.

Thank you! They did have more fawn and whites than other colors. They had a bunch of ducks, so I may have missed a color there too. They are so hyper! They peep constantly and never seem to settle down, lol. They want your attention ALL the time.

Sorry about that...not sure what made me think she was a scovy... Must have been thinking about Goat_Walkers ducks...

Those babies are all gorgeous though- and grown they will be such a colourful flock as well. Lucky Looks like a buff - Agree with Freckles being a fawn and white - one f the darker ones may be a chocolate,
