I'm AshleyMae. I'm a newlywed and in my early twenties. My husband and I live on a big plot of land that is everything from woods, to farmland, to a creek and fields. I have always wanted to have a "mini" farm and decided that now would be a great time to do it! So what better to start off with than chickens??
I have now 5 bantams and 8 brown egg layers. I'm not sure what any of their breeds are yet. I just got them Monday the 8th. Sadly, we lost one of our bantams last night for an unexplained reason.
I'm a worrier and would love to get advice from anyone. I found out about backyardchickens.com from facebook and a book that I had read. I love being a homemaker. I crochet, learning to knit, love to bake, and love to learn. To go along with my chickens, I'm looking into gardening (both edible and floral gardening), beekeeping and starting an orchard. =)
