i posted a thread aboutr a week and a half ago about the weight of my cornish x s
well i re weighed some of them and they still only weigh 3 1/2 lbs or so, we slowed them down to prevent leg problems, and heart attacks, but didnt think 18 % would stump there growth, could the heat be causing this? or i guess lack of. its been extremly cool for this time of year? any ideas i am about to put them on sweet corn not fit for market to fatten them up

what is the age of said cornish X? 3.5 lbs. may very well be a good weight at their age. they grow in stages.

fat wont increase the food for you. unless you are going to render the fat to make chicken lard for savory foods.

cool weather is nothing but a blessing for raising CX's. use it to your advantage.

going on 8 weeks, they aint grew much in the last few weeks and it has been cooler

free choice water, all they can drink, the feed was 12 on 12 off, now they are in a chicken tractor on range, with feed availible 24 -7, now the feed comes from a local feed mill, its a 18% mix of local grown grains, mixed fresh, no hormones ect..

8 week Cornish X's at 3.5 pounds?! My guess would be that they aren't Cornish X's. Any chance the factory sent you leghorns by mistake? My current best layer was a "meat bird" that I thought was just the runt of the litter for about six weeks. Any pics?

that does sound odd mine were that in a few weeks. Yes pics please
