Damnit. Brand new 5 week old Cochin bantams. I started the Medicated powder in their water last night. What else should I do to save them? I was optimistic it was just cecal poop but I can see it isn’t.

They’re all acting normally. That’s a lot of blood so is that a pretty bad sign?

It could be coccidiosis, have your chickens been vaccinated? make sure you isolate the bloody chicken as it does not seem like a good sign. i haven’t experienced this with my cochins so i wouldnt know. just follow the usual with sick chickens. how is her appetite? any strange observations? look up symptoms of coccidiosis and see if they match. if possible, see a vet that specialises in poultry!

That’s perfect. I think all you can do is keep them on the Corid.
Can I give her any right inside her beak too? Or the water is enough?
Yes, In addition to what you’re giving them in their water, you can give them a little quick boost by mixing 1/2 teaspoon powder with 2 teaspoons water, and give 0.34 ml per pound of bodyweight orally once or twice a day for 1-3 days. Treat all birds.

as I am not a farmer and new to this I honestly have no idea what they weigh. A few ounces is my guess.
