And my stupid hygrometer is messed up. It is a springfiels hygrometer. The humidity says 61% with a little water and when I add water halfway it stays the same. I am just going to wing it since my wallie dont carry accurites.

I have the same one but it seems to be pretty acurate, including the temp reading....
but it takes longer unfortunatly for it to read well...so you have to wait a while for the correct reading.
That does suck!
Hopefully ......next time we will get better ones.

My small one that has large numeral temp and humidity does great on humidity, but the temp has gotten off track now after numerous hatchings. You have to give it awhile for the water to begin to evaporate to get the reading.

Thank you both. I left it alone over night and it says the same thing. This is a brand new one I got the day before my eggs came in so its fairly new.

Try using a container that has more surface area.

Increasing the depth of the water doesn't effect humidity much but increasing surface area does.
