I will begin by saying this: it was not my plan last night to come home with over ten yards of fabric. I was going in and out of Mardens to get a crib quilt’s worth of peach and white fabric that was very beautiful and I loved very much in my brain. That would only amount to two yards plus a whole yard of my sashing/binding stuff. So three yards.
But they had their fall stuff out. And they had gotten the cutest little woodsy fairytale collection in. And if you know Shabby you know that she loves moss and whimsy and toadstools.
So I got two of those fabrics.
But then I needed a few good reds and purples. So I got half yards of a different perfect collection that went so perfectly with it. It’s not a sin. Just some fabric. Besides I need to make eight crib quilts at least for school. So this was just prep.
Enter to the scene a little old quilting lady who has the exact same taste in fabric as I do.
My mother turned away for a whopping five minutes to grab some yarn that was on sale for a Christmas present, and me and this lady matched fabric for two more quilts.
Plus possibly got me to impulse buy some gorgeous black and purple wisteria fabric that was an end bolt and had only a yard left IT WOULDN’T BE THERE WHEN I CAME BACK OK THE IMPULSE WAS JUSTIFIABLE.
So now I have to find some good light blues and purples to make another quilt with. Did I tell you this one has glitter in it?! I am a sucker for glittery fabric.
Oh and I also got ten or so more yards of fabric to make my mom a Mother’s Day quilt and matching dress. Oops
So yeah… I left Mardens with a large bag of fabric and a regretless heart last night. There is my non-Catholic confession. Please give me tips and ideas on what quilt patterns to try!
