Willie, formerly Wilma, is in need of a good home with some hens to keep him company. He was purchased as a day old pullet on April 3rd, successfully fooling me and the chicken sexer. I would love to keep him, but I already have a rooster who will not be willing to take Willie into his harem. The flyer says $8, but i will not charge if I'm convinced he's going to a good home and not a stock pot or fighting ring.

Remember the Kellogg's Corn Flakes rooster, Cornelius? He was a Welsummer, just like Willie Roo, who is free to a good home! Will transport from Chapel Hill, NC, to within a reasonable driving distance in Virginia or North Carolina.

Do you have a picture? I live in Mt. Pleasant NC. Not sure what a Welsummer looks like. I think I may have a couple of welsummer hens though as I cant identify them.

The top photo is Wilma/Willie Roo, at almost 16 weeks. When he's fully mature, he should look like the rooster in the small picture in the lower left corner. I am not asking any money for him here. This is the flyer I made for my local feed store, where I was told it was better to put a price on the flyer, or somebody might want a free rooster for cock fighting or simply for the cooking pot.

I've raised him from a day-old chick, so I want him to have a good home. I'd be willing to drive to Charlotte to deliver him.

I don't have a picture handy of my Welsummer pullet, but if you do an image search, you can see what they look like. They are brown with a slightly more golden brown neck. In both the males and females, the legs are very yellow. They are very docile, but curious. Although they aren't as comfortable being picked up as some of my other chickens (Barred Rock and Buff Orpington), they do like to be near me in the yard and follow me around, overseeing whatever chores I'm doing.
