I have pictures of 3, 2 week old Welsummer chicks. Maybe it is too early, but I think these 3 might be pullets? Tell me what you think. Pictures 1-3 are chick 1, 4-6 are chick 2, and 7-8 are chick 3.

I don't see anything that makes me think any of them are boys yet. When they start to feather out, the males and females look different, so it should be clear if any of them get black breast feathers (they will be male) instead of the salmon-colored brown.

Okay, thanks. Is there anything I am looking for now, at 2 weeks old, that will tell me? I read that the darker/ more prominent the mascara line from the eyes, more likely to be female, and that the males had more yellow coloring at this age too?

Yeah, that's what I would go by. I'd pick out the darkest ones with the best eyeliner, and no breaks in the chipmunk stripe pattern from their head to their back.

Pretty sure they're all girls. Welsummers are auto-sexing. (though I just saw some posts on here saying they're not?) The females will look like yours, and the males will be much lighter and not as dark brown. A couple years ago I got two Welsummer chicks, one was a boy and one was a girl so I have some experience in them.

Thanks. Yeah, I got 7 Welsummer chicks, and 4 out of 7 look distinctly yellow/ orange in color, with less distinct eyeliner, so it does seem clear now.
