We got a Welsummer from Tractor Supply. She recently started laying, and to my surprise, she is laying small light blue eggs.
I've read other forums regarding this, but those turned out to be EE's because of their pea comb. My girl definitely looks to be full Welsummer. Any ideas or experiences with this? I'll try to add a pic.
Thanks!

Can we see the bird you're suspecting that laid the egg?

Do you have any EEs that just started laying?

I haven't seen very many of those. So that's also a possibility.

They are a Hoovers exclusive mixed breed and can look very differently just as EE's can.
They bred leghorns into the mix to up production and hopefully breed out some of the more common EE issues like cross beak.
I have a couple blue bells and a couple starlight green layers in my flock. All have light earlobes and yellow legs....well except Aurora she has one yellow and one sage leg.

Interesting.
My one EE chick had a deformed lower beak, that prevented her from eating normally. Wasn't crossed though.
