Welsummer or Legbar?

Is this chick a Welsummer or a Legbar? They are about 6-7 weeks old (sorry that the pictures aren’t that good)

Sorry to ask, but do you know if leg bar cockerels are friendly towards humans?

I agree on being a cockerel and if the only two options are Legbar or Welsummer then yes a Legbar

As for being friendly, they should be okay. Just remember that as he gets older you do not want to show fear. You want them to always view you as being in charge. It helps a lot. Sometimes they can still end up with a bad attitude but it will come down to the individual bird and not a breed issue. I haven't heard of Legbars as having bad attitudes as an overall breed thing.

All roosters can be aggressive.
You won’t know how he’s going to be till he hits puberty.
I personally don’t really handle mine and I’ve never had an aggressive rooster problem.

Thankyou, I have had him since he was hatched so do you think that could increase the chance of him not being aggressive towards me?

It can help, but he will still have the potential. It has been a long time since I have had an aggressive rooster but I will also charge one if it looks at me cross. I also teach my children to never show fear either. It helps. And sometimes if that doesn't help then its just something the stew pot has solved for me, but it has been a long time since I have had to go that route.

Legbar cockerel.

Definitely not a legbar cockerel. Legbar cockerels are clearly barred. Personally, I do not think it is either a Welsummer or a Legbar but it is far more likely a Welsummer than a Legbar.

While this is a Rose Comb Legbar, it demonstrates the color of a young Legbar cockerel.
