welsummer yes or no?

Does the welsummer lay lots of eggs? Will it lay more/less than the australorp, plymouth rock?

Welsummers are considered very good egg layers producing 4+ eggs a week. Barred Rocks or Plymouth Rocks are also very good egg layers laying the same amount as Welsummers. Australorps are considered excellent egg layers giving you 5+ eggs a week. They are all brown egg layers, but the Welsummers lay DARK brown eggs whereas the Rocks and Australorps lay regular brown eggs.

Of course every chicken is different and those are just breed averages/standards. My Plymouth Rock goes above and beyond and gives me a perfect brown egg nearly every single day
