Welsummers not laying

I have 3 Welsummer hens I got as chicks at the same time. One has been laying for about a month - the other two are not laying yet. Is it possible to get hens that are just lemons and never lay or will they eventually start laying?

There can be significant time ranges between maturation/laying even within a breed. Day light period is starting to increase, and the other two will begin laying within the next couple of months.

I agree, the others should come around and start laying here pretty soon. Just hang in there.

Are you sure they others are not laying?
They don't all lay every day, if you're going by daily egg count.

I am only getting one chocolate brown egg at a time. Never two. That would be weird if all three were laying

Did they ever start laying? I bought 2 Easter Eggers at the end of March last year, and in 6 months started getting only max one blue egg in a day. By winter I was sure the other one was a lemon and was thinking I needed to replace her, but she started laying late winter! So she took nearly a year to get started.

I have 1 EE out of 6 that hasn’t laid an egg yet. All but her started laying around 18 weeks. She just hit 35 weeks of age. She doesn’t know it but she has a target on her back. I’ve been in the mood for fried chicken lately.
