My chickens are 5 months old and I thought 3 are light brown leghorns. But I see no white for ears. The hens don't have the variation in color that the pics of mature light brown leghorns do. No eggs yet.

Could some of you post some pics of both breeds at various ages from baby to adult so I can learn to tell the differance. Thanks.

I have both, but I cant find baby pics, these are teens right now. Here are:

Hope someone else can add more

I don't have the Danish Brown Leghorn for sure. Thanks.
The babies looked kinda quailish with chipmunk stripes on their backs. They came from RK via Cackle.
I know that I can take pics and someone can probably tell me but I would like to learn the differences in these breeds on sight if possible. Anyone else with pics?

The one in the foreground of the second picture is a Welsummer - the dark beak tip and the feather pattern. She looks just like my Welsummers.

Thats why I posted her pic - to show the OP the difference between the top pic (Danish Brown Leghorn) and the bottom pic (OEGB with a Welsummer)

Thanks for reassuring us though!

The OEGB and the Welsummer in the pic are the same age - they are just that different is size!

Oh, and I couldnt tell any of them apart easily when they were little! I have a bad habit of getting eggs or chicks that are the same color pattern - I have to wait til they're bigger to tell them apart!
