Hello Everyone!
My name is Kim and my partner and I are relocating from Cleveland, Ohio to Salt Lake City in...three days (ahhhhhhhhh)! I have been on the Facebook BYC for awhile now and it's my favorite group to check out every morning. There's so many experienced and passionate chicken people that I learn something new every day. I love my chickens and once we are settled in from the move I plan on getting some new peepers, which will probably end up being in spring.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I brought home my first four chicks in 2015. I have a couple of years experience under my belt but there's still a lot to learn.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Two, Navi and Lolly. <3 Hoping to get more in the spring. I need to read all the posts about introducing new chickens to each other in the meantime.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Easter Eggers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I really love jwatching animals being animals and doing their thing around the yard. I like figuring out new treats and how to keep them the healthiest I can. Also, delicious eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Vegetable Gardening (still learning more about this every day as well), reading, gaming, hiking and weight lifting.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been a lurker for years as I'm a bit shy but I'm getting noisier as I age
I joined the Facebook BYC group and started participating here and there and I've been encouraged by all the friendly and helpful interactions. I don't know how much I can contribute but I look forward to listening and learning from all of you!
