We FINALLY found a place to live!

We’ll be moving to Staunton, VA!!!

The 11-acre farm in Rougemont, NC did not have internet and the phone company said they have absolutely no plans of putting in internet in that area since there are only 64 customers and it’s not worth their while.

So we found a place in Staunton, VA. It’s only got 3 acres, but I think we can make that work. My challenge (being a city girl) is to figure out how to convert an old one-car wooden garage into a chicken coop. If you talented folks out there could help me out with ideas, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Also, I’ll be looking for chickens (started pullets) in the area because I want eggs right away. I’ll order baby chicks later. Anybody local???

Congrats on the pending move.. how exciting and stress full at the same time.. I am sure plenty of folks have many ideas or suggestions for you about the conversion of the garage to a coop... Its amazing how peoples ideas can spark inspiration..

You don't really want dial up internet anyway...it is waaaaaay too sloooooow. If you are in the country and don't have cable, you can get internet from DirectTV (satellite). All you need is an unobstructed view to the south (sound like their commercial). It can go out in extremely hard rain, but that very seldom lasts long. I'm just saying....
