Weslummer at 6 Weeks - tell me I am a Lady - 3 photos

[Montana-Hens]

This is my first year with hens and I bought 4 different girls so comparing them isn't working so well when looking for confirmation of gender.

I have looked at welsummer pictures online and here and I go back and forth. So all you folks out there with so much more experience than me....what do you think? Lady or ain't no lady.

The dark spot on her chest is the last of her baby fuzz not feathers.

Absolutely a young pullet. Cockerels are colored completely different from the start.

Are you talking about Welsummers? The cockerels have much darker breast feathers. If you do a search you will find several threads from earlier this spring with Welsummer chicks of both sexes, so you can compare.
