I have been hearing about the west nile virus and I have heard that it is in my area, so I was wondering what can be used to prevent my chickens from getting it and what to do if they possibly do get it?

According to Oregon live it can infect birds and will be quickly eliminated through the chicken's immune system. Although the chicken will still harbor the virus and it can transmit it to a mosquito through the biting process. It poses no danger to humans for the most part and cannot be contracted through eating the eggs or meat of the chicken.
