Toots one of my llamas came back from the vet after having heart surgery and was separated from my 4 other llamas for a week. Now Toots is back in the pen with them and the 4 other llamas have ignored them and pushing him out of the shed at night so Toots sleeps in the cold rain. Today they at least let her eat with them but they have always gotten along well until now. They’ve been separated for a week so maybe they just have “forgotten” about her? I mean maybe they thought Toots abandoned them since Toots was always the dominant one. :idunno:

Any ideas?

Perhaps toots needs to find its place in the pecking order again. Might take a little bit. When you remove/add animals to a heard or flock it disrupts the pecking order and can take time to reestablish who ranks where.
