What’s going on with these feathers ?

I noticed with the new feathers coming in that this ones seem to be twisted all the way down to where they connect. Any ideas as to why the feathers are growing like this? Someone suggested that perhaps it was a frizzle but I’ve never had one. Any ideas ?

As long as they're getting enough protein I wouldn't worry. Stress can sometimes cause improper feathering and stress bars. It doesn't quite look frizzled to me. I had Black Brahmas with similar feathering as chicks, just a bit "tattered" looking. Mine all grew up to be feathered just fine so I wouldn't worry. I will say though that their feathers are strange. They matt up at the base and have trouble shedding them. I assume it's all correlated to this feathering, but I do not know the cause other than it seems to be genetic. Update as it grows! I am interested to see how it develops!

I’ve had the chick since it was 3 days old and I’ve been pretty diligent with not letting them get wet/chilled etc. they are in my extra dining room so I’m with them almost 24/7. As their feathers develops I noticed this ones are wacky. The more they develop, the more it’s looks like it may be a frizzle . Gunna have my friend come check this little one out. She has had quite a few over the years. She’s no expert either so I may just have to wait this one out. Once it’s fully feathered it should be more clear

I had one EE like that this year, all the tips were twisted, I named him Fizzy. I got him at 2 or 3 days old and he wasn't doing well when I got him home, but he pulled through. I wasn't sure if this was the reason his feathers were fizzy, I gave them some egg, not every day, but off and on the first few weeks in case it was protein related. After his first funky baby feathers he has feathered out completely normal.
I attached 2 chick photos, they looked more pronounced in person.
