What’s on this egg???

This is from an egg that was laid today by my golden comet chicken. She’ll be a year old next month. I cleaned her coop out last night and dusted her with poultry dust as well. Any thoughts?

Looks like specks of calcium to me. Does it brush off and feel like little rocks?

It doesn't look like it to me. How long has she been laying? I have a new layer that lays blue eggs and the only reason it didn't freak me out is because the calcium specks are blue too, lol. I think they just look scarier on yours because she's a brown egg layer. Now that you got a good picture I would rub them between your fingers, you'll be able to feel if they're crunchy like calcium or squishy like eggs.

Yep, definitely calcium. Freaked me out the first time I had one turn out like that too. Your mind immediately goes PARASITE EGGS!!

Oh ick.... Zoomed in like that they do look like they are seperate from the shell.

Have you checked around your girl's vent and tummy below the vent? See if there are any creepy crawlies or eggs around her feather shafts.

Found a picture of one of my eggs with the weird bumpy calcium deposits. They are also about the same color as the shell.

Yours are very contrasted to the shell.
