Went to collect eggs today and one was like this. It looks cracked but it’s smooth so I can’t feel any cracks. Is it okay to eat or do I need to toss it?
Sometimes you can get mended cracks. Anything that looks like a crack. I wash with soap and water. I scramble it and feed it back to the chicks for the protein.
Was cracked during shelling process and 'repaired' with more calcium.
I'd guess the bumpy part may be very thin?
It's fine to eat, probably just a shelling glitch.
If you continue to see these, then might need to do further investigation.
