what a chicken worth?

Not sure where to post this. I have some chickens that I want to sell mostly large egg layers and a few fancy girls. they are a year old they each lay 5-7 eggs@ a week. how much should I sell them for. I'm hoping to recoup my food cost. I pay $18 for 50lbs.

It depends on where you live and what breed they are.
I sell 12 to 18 month old what I will call brown egg layers for $12.00 each, all pure breeds, blue layers $15.00 and dark brown for $20.00.
But they will pay that here. That is the standard price. Look on your local craigs list to get an idea in your area.

thanks! that was what i was thinking . Do fancy once go for more money or less( being that they lay fewer eggs).

It really does depend upon locale - look at ads in NY and see what they are asking.
