What a day

And today.. I find an egg covered in blood! And a hen with a bloody rear??
What is this.. Was she egg bound and it came out?? Is this something else?? Help

New to chickens ( obviously ) and new to the forumm

Is she a new layer? Some times you will find that with a new layer a bit of blood on her or the egg. Usually will sort it's self out with no problems to the hen.
