What age can chicks eat veggies?

I went and got some chick grit, but it is Purina, and they say up to 10wks, then poultry grit after that. So many different ideas out there from the manufacturers, so confusing! I greatly appreciate your input and as always, you are all so smart and I have learned SO much! THANK YOU!!

I've been giving my girls cucumbers that yellow (bad for canning) about every third day starting at about 4 weeks old. I've crushed up some baked egg shells and added a pinch here and there. The main diet is Purina Start & Grow, medicated. Please tell me I'm not too way off. My theory is nature tells them what to eat to some extent. Oh, and they run from tomatoes...
I also let them roam the garden while cleaning the coop about every third day.
