My chicks are almost 7 weeks old, and I suspect one has gape worm. He pants a lot, even at night, and does the yawn/gag
gape sometimes. I would like to give ivermectin, but I am not sure at what age and dose it can be safely done. I live in a
warm humid climate, and they have full access to outside and all the bugs that go with it.

Each line on the tube worms 250 lbs body weight!!! Seven week old chicks? VERY poor choice of product. It's the least expensive for of ivermectin, but totally inappropriate for those little guys. It's a pretty safe product, but really the wrong dosage. I went together with friends who also have birds, and bought the injectable. You might be able to buy a small amount from a LA or equine vet also. Mary

Extremely rude, she’s asking for help.. and you didn’t even answer her question.. it’s not helpful to put someone down when they’re asking for help or advice. If you aren’t going to answer the question, keep scrolling.

I think it's okay to warn somebody off the wrong product, but it was a little excessive. And, I need an answer to the same question. I just want to know at what age I can put them on a regular schedule (of Ivermectin), how often it should be, and what product to use.
