What age can you put chicks together?

I have a 1 week old chick. I just found a person that is willing to sell me a 3 week old chick. Can I put them together? I was looking for a friend for my lone chick and this would be great, if it will work.

they should be fine together, I put 1 week 3 week and 7 weeks all in together and they did Ok. The 7 week olds would fluff out their wings and let the little ones snuggle up, it was very sweet.

If they start peckin at the little ones a lot, just seperate them


There is always the concern about illness, but I did it with my chicks.

I agree with the other post. Put them together and watch them for awhile. They should be ok.
