What Age Can You Usually Sex Chicks?

Hi... My hen is raising 4 chicks and this is the first for both me and mamma hen. I have 4 RIR chicks and they will be a month old on Tuesday. At what age can you usually determine the sex? I notice two have a dark stripe down their head and a small crown started. The two with no stripe down their head seem to have larger crowns beginning to appear. Is it way to young to tell? When do you think I should be able to know with some certainty? Thanks!

Depends on the breed, strain and even the individual bird, but I can sight sex most by 6 weeks. Some can be feather sexed at a couple days old, some are colored different at hatch and some are just hard to sex period. RI chicks, if you could post pictures I bet some on here could give you some pretty close guesses at 4 weeks.
