I have an LG still air bator. My last 2 hatches I've only had 2 eggs hatch out of 12-14 eggs. My temp stays b/n 100-102 degrees, and the humidity runs b/n 30-50%. I haven't had any temp spikes, and have had brief humidity spikes into the 60s when I add water. The room temp fluctuates, but it doesn't effect the bator temp much. Is there anything I can do to improve my hatches?

Thanks,
Sonja

when getting shipped eggs your always at risk of not getting anything...i recently had a hatch of 5 out of 18 of shipped eggs...so it is probably not your fault

Whew! Maybe it isn't me then.

Hi Sonja, I was wondering how your LG was working. Did you see those eggs that Aimee has from the Black ducks? They're pretty!

They're beautiful, but I must stick to chickens. Hubby is already annoyed with the sheep that were getting next weekend. I'd be in big trouble if I added water fowl to the family. lol

It's too cute, one of the chicks that did hatch has built itself an egg circle, and it's sleeping in the middle of it. Babies go into the brooder tonight.

I've done 12 shipped with 12 local before and had results of 4:12 make it so I'd agree that this is a contributing factor. If they are making it to day 18 fine and then quitting though it could be a humidity/airflow problem.
