I recently hatched 3 eggs on July 1st and I am not sure what I ended up with with this one. I had a BR roo and a RIR roo with my BR, RIR, and EE/Ameracauna hens. I am pretty sure this chick was from an EE egg, but not sure which roo is the daddy. Also, any ideas on gender. Not real good pics. It is 3 weeks old.

It definately has RIR markings. Barring seems to be a dominant gene so you should see some if the Barred Rock was daddy and the comb is straight so probably not Americauna mix either.. It looks very RIR probably both parents. Also I think it is feathering out like a roo.

Okay....Tell me what this guy really is. Just got him from a guy a couple of weeks ago and he advertised him as Ameracauna. Just from the research i have done, I doubt it. Maybe part EE and part????

The barring is more apt to show if the mother is the barred bird (i.e. sexlink crosses). However, that bird is too light to be pure RIR. Secondly, depending on the "Americuana" could be an EE??? and could carry a gene for the single comb, causing the offspring to get two single comb genes.
