I have 12 chicks. 6 of them I know are RIR.

But I am not sure about the following.

This one I thought was a White Leghorn but it's growing so fast and is twice the size of the other brood mates. Some folks on here helped figure out that it may be a cornish x and is a meat bird.

Black sexlink or Barred Rock?

Same question.

I thought this was a Buff but now I'm wondering if it's a Gold Sexlink.

Any help identifying is appreciated. I'm still figuring all this out.

Hi!

Yeah, that first guy is a meat bird. Not sure what your plans are for him, but some on here have had reasonable luck keeping them by regulating their feed, etc.

Are the next two the same type? It is hard to tell. The 3rd pic is a Barred Rock, but I can't really tell on the second because of the way she is standing (but she sure doesn't look like she has a single comb like the Barred Rock). The last one definitely looks like a sex link to me. All very good little chickie types, IMO.

I thought pic 2 and 3 were the same breed but I am not so sure. The chick in the second picture is just below the Barred Rock in the third picture.

Thank you for your help!!

I wondered if that was the same chick. Yeah, I am quite sure it is something different...but I have no idea what. Maybe someone who knows breeds better than I will jump in? What color are her legs?

I just went out to the coop...man she is a quick little chick. Her legs are the same at the RIR (the solid color tan-ish brown leg) and different from the one you IDed at the Barred Rock who's legs have a black wash down them.

Hmmmm.....I was kinda thinking maybe some black colored EE, with that comb....but not with tan legs, they would be greenish...sorry, I am just lost, but there are so many breeds I am not at all familiar with....

She is certainly a pretty little thing.

hi
we are by no means experts in any way but the 2nd picture looks a little like our SilverLaced Wyandotte chick when she was little. Has that same kind of comb. THey sure are cuties.

Many thanks to you all who identified these for me. I am pleased with the breeds except the meat bird. I thought I was getting a w.leghorn chick...oh well.

The silver laced wyandotte, barred rock, and red sexlinks and 3 RIRs came out of the pullet bin. Now I know what I have in at least 6 of my chicks.

Again...THANK YOU!
