Hi, all! We are new to this forum. For their life science project, my kids wants to document the growth of our chicks. First, we need to find out what breed they are and whether they are rooster or hens. Here they are....Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

These two chicks are 3 weeks old. (Does anyone know why one is growing so much faster than the other?)

the first black chick looks to be a black copper marans and he(?) is bigger because the other one looks like a bantam of some sort.
the 6 week olds
1st is Easter egger
and the second pic is black copper marans pullet

where did you get them?

My dad bought these chicks for my kids. Yes, grandfathers are such joy to the kids.....

After reading the replies, we decided to call him to see if he knows anything about them. Surprisingly, he does! He bought them from a local farm that's just starting up. The chicks were hatched from eggs bought from the 'top breeders". The first one is a BCM. The little one is actually a Lavender Orpington - I didn't realized that's a Lavender type in that breed! The 3rd one is an Ameraucana. The last one is also a BCM. All of them were sold as straight run. So can anyone tell if we have pullets or roos here?!!?! Thanks again!!!

i would say
1st pic-boy
(his comb is already bigger than the last BCM pullet picture)
the lav orp is very small if they are the same age-too little to tell sex
3rd pic is an easter egger(americana)
4th is pullet.
