any idea on breed of the rooster in the front? i know he is a barnyard mix, but wondering what went into him. any ideas?

I'm seeing barred rock and rhode island red, or red sex link. what a fun looking guy!

Looks like he may have some Legbar in him. Maybe some production red too

i plan on breeding him with the flock of RIR.

most, if not all of the chicks will be barred, roosters pass on barring to all offspring. If only one of his parents was barred, then he will only have 1 barring gene, so you could get some nonbarred chicks when bred to a non barred hen.
If you breed him to some welsummers or barred rocks, you could get some crele looking chicks
