It was hatched on April 16th 2015. I grabbed the egg before it hatched from under my bantam chicken (haha yes it was comical to see her sitting on this egg but it worked) and it imprinted on me. I named it Harper as it's a unisex name.

I last weighed the goose at 5 weeks and it was 6 pounds even. I can weigh it again this weekend if weight helps identify the type.

A farmer gave me the egg and said "I have two breeds of geese. Grey and white ones and grey ones"

Any help with identification would be awesome.

Pom Pom Pom! You're very lucky you got one! Mince you find out the sex i suggest getting it a mate so we can all preserve the breed!

Hey OP...where are you located? Our babies look about the same age! I have no idea what sex Cas is yet (the vet would have checked for me but Cas screamed and wanted nothing to do with it! LOL) but if you're close enough and we end up having opposites....

This breed is still on the Critically Endangered List, so preserving it is a good thing!

If you both have boys or one of you has boys I have a girl Pom that can be artificially inseminated hehe! Her markings are pretty close to where they're supposed to be, so that would be great.

I am looking to breed Cas in the future. My only request with said breeding is I get to pick one of the babies! LOL

I'm in Hawaii so I think breeding would be a bit tricky. :)

Does DNA feather sexing work for geese like it does for parrots?

I would think so? I'll talk to my friend who runs a parrot rescue and has a connection with DNA sexing and let you know for sure!
