What are Quite breeds of Chcikens

i have australorps so they are the only ones i can comment on. I think they are nice and quiet too though the roosters can be noisy. For a dual purpose bird I think barred rocks would be the go for you.

So what other breeds of chickens are there that arn't loud? Does anybody else have past experiences to share?
Are Silkies meat birds as I didn't think so?

People in the us don't eat silkies as much just because the meat color
