My chick had recently died at the young age of 5 weeks old. One of her chick friends that she had grown up with all her life sat with her dead body and rested her head against Nyla. She seemed as if she was sleeping. Are there any signs of depression that i need to know of that could harm her?

I'm sorry for your loss :( I was in the same situation as you once, a chick died around 5 weeks and had a buddy sleeping next to him when I found out. However, I did not observe any noticeable changes in their behavior. Are you left with just the one chick or do you have more? If there are others, then I think she will be fine. Otherwise, you may hear loud chirping and see general uneasiness/pacing. Those are just some general signs of being lonely.

And of course, welcome to BYC! I'm sorry it isn't in the best of circumstances.
