What are some good plants that dont need sun for chickens??

The chickens will probably kill the plants, dig up the roots, etc. Unless you put some sort of protection around them. I've had a tomato plant survive in the chicken run, which I put a tiny fence around, then the hens eventually got to harvest the tomatoes. The plants that have survived in their run are ones they don't eat, various weeds, which make it a nice habitat.

Ok thank you for responding!!

You can sow grasses in a frame with wire I’ver top. The chicken can eat what grows above the wire.

some people set up fodder systems. Check out the article sectionon BYC, I know there is a popular fodder article there.

We grow marigolds do that we can toss the flowers to the chickens. And they grow ok in the shade on the north side of the barn.
