What are the chances Metzler miss-sexed a duckling?

When you say acting like a drake ?
Do you mean trying to mate ?
My girls would mount each other way more at that age then the boys
It’s a dominant thing
In fact even at 3 months my girls were chasing the boys begging for attention snd the boys would run away
Now the boys are older they don’t turn the girls down

I’ve had several drakes in past years and even as little ducklings they were being aggressive to the girls, nipping at them and chasing them around. This one is doing that kind of behavior, I really hope I’m wrong… But even if she turns out to be a he , I’ll try and see how it goes with all the old ladies. The last drake I accepted from someone who needed to give him away ended up kicking my disabled welsh harlequin out in an ice storm and she was getting frozen solid… I had to send him along to another home too

Awe poor girl!

Well, hopefully if this is a drake he will be a good one. I guess like roosters, you get some good ones and some unfortunate bad ones.

I have had one drake he a little nippy when they were small but he is my only one ti ever do this
Although he turned into a great boy abc is nice to all the ducks
That’s so sad yours did that to her

I got 3 ducklings from Metzer a couple years ago and two turned out to be male. They replaced them for me.
