What are the first signs that a chick is a frizzle?

I bought 4 asst. bantam cochins along with several other breeds and the dark one's feathers look just a little different than the others. Hmmm, frizzle maybe? They are 4 days old, just starting to get their wing feathers in. I was trying the feather sexing thing when I noticed that its feathers look a little different. The first part of the wing feathers look pretty normal so far, but the wing feathers closer to the body actually look kind of like silkie feathers? None of the other cochin's feathers look like that. It would be neat to have a frizzle! When is the soonest that I can know whether I have a frizzle or not?

Hi! I'm not really sure, as I'm a newbie with frizzles, and the jury is still out on mine. Her feathers have a windblown look, like she is constantly in front of a fan. Here she is:

I say once the feathers are fully in you should know for sure. Sorry I'm not much more help.

You will know it is a frizzle when the wing feathers curl up away from the body. I have had some frizz at 4 days and others at 2 weeks. Hope you get your little friz.

What a lovely little chick! How old is she? At what age did you first start noticing the frizzly-ness? I guess I'll know soon enough though, I am not a very good waiter!

It only takes a couple days for them to start getting wing feathers, and it becomes obvious pretty much as soon as they have any of those firm feathers in! I could tell with mine in 4 days which were frizzled and which werent.

She was 2 1/2 weeks in that pick. I thought she was just ugly, to be honest. Had to come here to see why she looked so funny!

LOL Yeah, to some people they may be ugly (especially at that stage!) but you just have to have a certain "love" for them. I have never had any, but I think it would be pretty neat to have one or 2. I can't tell for sure yet, but now I have a white/splash cochin that is looking a little frizzy like the black cochin is. Hmm...
