Okay so let me start by saying I posted some more questions before but have not found any definitive answers. I'm looking for information on regulations for meat birds. I've never raised meat birds before but would like to know before investing too much if I can sell them and what it would take to sell them. Can I process them myself and sell them or are there regulations that force me to sell them as live Birds?
If you or someone you know does a similar function how do you handle it? Do you process Birds yourself?

Can I post or make up a website that shows local pasture-raised poultry?

This would be small-scale and probably to start with under a hundred Birds the first year.

Will you do your own processing? Are you trying to be competitive with grocery store prices? Have you done a market study, to see if there is a customer base who would be willing to pay enough for a dressed bird to cover your production costs, and a reasonable fee for your labor? What are your zoning ordinances?

Contact your county Ag. Extension office for information pertinent to your state. They will be able to put you in touch with the information you are looking for.

IMO, it is not possible, at least in my area, to make any kind of profit with poultry, either selling eggs, birds, or meat. I do well to cover my feed costs. I consider my poultry to be a labor of love. Other folks may have different experience.

I was planning to process the birds myself. For the most part my intentions are to provide my family with some healthy chickens. If neighbors, friends, or coworker's wanted some and I had an opportunity to increase the amount of birds i grow I would like to know what are the legalities of doing so I would be.
There's also the matter of processing equipment for instance at chicken plucker would be a large investment if I was not allowed to ever sell any of the birds.
