I got them from tsc. All have single combs.

#4 (silver laced CB?)

The first two could be OEGB but black tailed buff Japanese bantams are another possibility. OEGBs should have white legs, Japanese bantams should have yellow legs.

The third is maybe a spangled OEGB.

Not sure on the third. Possibly silver Sebright, possibly Easter egger.

It is easier to see them. If they are just standing. Even though it is not easy to get a good picture of them. The second one is a black breasted red OEGB. The third one, I am not sure on color. It looks to be a Cochin. The first one looks like a red Pyle OEGB.

I think black tailed buff is correct for the first two. I know that chipmunk patterned chicks are mostly guesswork at this stage but these ones had a lot more white as opposed to cream and even a white wing feather, so I figured that might be a trademark of a color pattern? As for the last one, I’m almost 100% sure it’s a CB, unless it ever so happens to be a dark Brahma with a single comb but I don’t think that’s the case. It’s 100% not a sebright, even the ‘lacing’ on the wing isn’t neat enough for me to think sebright. The feet are feathered, so I doubt it’s an Easter egger.

I have a red bulb heat lamp and these aren’t the only chicks I have by a long shot, so taking a picture of them in their natural standing pose really isn’t worth it. At first that’s what I thought too, but considering how many patterns have a chipmunk pattern I don’t think I can for sure make a call yet. I’m also not entirely sure on color for the 3rd one, but I’m almost 100% certain it’s a CB. I tried to look at the hatchery to see if any of the Cochin varieties they have look similar but none did; and after quite a few chicks I’ve gotten that the hatchery doesn’t even list as things they have I’ve become skeptical about how much of it they actually source from hatcheries. I don’t think red Pyle is accurate for the first two. They just look too different for that to be it.

I didn't notice the feathered feet, So yes, I think you are right. That one must be a silver laced Cochin.

The down color outside the stripes of a chipmunk chick. Tells you the color they will be as adults. Brown is black breasted. Gray is silver. Most hatcheries usually offer basic colors in specials. Which narrows the choices. Every now and then you will see Crele. Which if you can’t tell the difference by the down. Will be apparent as soon as the first wing feathers show. You may be right on the ones not being red Pyle. I stopped raising them a few years back. So I am not as good picking them out. There are just too many varieties of Cochins to even guess.

Spangled OE has the chipmunk pattern as well, and there are white wing feathers coming in, so I doubt it is black breasted red.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t spangled OEGBs have a BBR base with mottling on top? That might explain the confusion.
