I am trying to identify these blue chicks. Came in a brown egg layer assortment from McMurray. This pic was taken at 4 days old. They are 7 days now, and the wings are coming in white. They seem to be larger than all the other chicks, and quieter.

. . . From McMurray? Doubt it.

Good point , lol. I forget you guys have hatcheries. The last little one looks very much like my Blr Wyandotte chicks only a much lighter colour

i ordered the same assortment two years ago... checking the site again the only thing that makes sense is that they are austalorps their legs look a little slaty... are their legs greyish? ... but they look lighter than mine did... but when going over the other possibilities according to their website ... the only other ones might be black jersey giants or black stars... i haven't had either of them so not sure what those chicks look like

Yeah... I double checked what they have in the mix and I didn't see anything that was blue... I don't even know if they carry BJG's (although that would be cool!). Their site doesn't list blue orps either... Unless their website doesn't reflect what they currently have in the Brown Egg Layer mix I couldn't find anything blue... maybe its just greyish fuzz that will be replaced with black feathers.
