Sorry the quality of photos aren't the best, the chooks weren't cooperating with me! The first three photos are of a 11 wk. old ? I think it is a roo, much taller and redder comb than my other pullets and he is much bigger, but what breed? I thought maybe a Barred Plymoth Rock? As you can see in the last photo of him he's next to my Barred Rock pullets.
The last 2 photos are of 10 wk. old Easter eggers but I'm trying to figure out if the "white" one is a roo. Comb is redder and maybe a little taller than the other pullets and tail feathers are more upright and it has an attitude! What do you think? Thanx for any imput!

Number one is beautiful but not a BR, maybe a sex link roo...I've seen a beautiful light colored Sex link roo that looked a lot like yours.

Brown bird looks like hen, other is roo. Mystery breed has Delaware barring (see photo of week) but not the right pattern.

Thanx for the imput! I was afraid the Easter egger was a roo, darn! The mystery bird is quite a sweetie so far so if he keeps it up, he may replace my feisty banty roo as the "herd bull"!

Oh, exciting, I'll have to research Marans. What are they popular for in the Uk, I mean is it personality, production, meat, etc. Are you from the UK, VE?
I would like a roo that is protective against predators when my hens are free ranging but not fiesty with us, is that possible! My banty roo will attack our legs every chance he gets and it's getting annoying, he also crows constantly when we are around even after dark, like he's warning every bird within miles that we are invading his bubble!

Marans lay big chocolate brown eggs. In UK they call Marans crosses Spekladys hens, or some like that. I am from East Europe-Bulgaria
