What are we... pic heavy

I think the golden barred one is a Golden Campine. I could be wrong but that is what I think. I'm not sure about the others.

she does look like a campine or the Egyptian Fayoumi

You can't tell from the picture, but that chick and the other one just like it are about a third smaller than the rest of them. I wonder if that makes it more likely to be the Egyptian?

The black chciks may also be Javas. Or black sexlink hens.

My point is APA standard calls for rosecombs in Wyandotte. If it has a single comb it is crossed wqith something. Rosecomb is a dominant gene. So if you get a single comb bird it is from a flock that has been crossed with something, for any number of reasons. Be it to introduce a new color or to improve fertility or whatever it is still a hybrid, and should be culled for not showing breed standard.

well if they are sex links they sure screwed up a pullet order because they sure look to be roos with those pink combs at 3 weeks old.

I don't plan on breeding them or showing them so I don't care if they're pure breds. I do think that the hatcheries should try to breed to standard though and its a little disappointing when they don't.

I guess I'm just going to have to be patient and see what they grow into.

not to critisize or anything, but single combs pop up quite commonly in pure breedeing stock. Many people actually keep single combers to improve stock.
